The Third of July?

Yes. I'm posting from Chicago, where the Independence Day Fireworks are held on July 3. That way, people can see the downtown show one day and then see the celebration in their own neighborhoods and suburbs, the next day. We get to have July 4, twice in the same year.

This blog will be about that holiday and nothing else, most of it probably focusing on the photos others have taken on that day or the pages they've written about it. This will be an almost entirely apolitical blog; if Chicago's finest bother the people celebrating the fourth, I might say something about that, but that's about it.

I might slip in a few photos and scribblings of my own.
